What’s Up, Dog?

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Had to replace the battery on my motorcycle today. Shop is next door to “What’s up Dog?” on Harrison. I orderd the Tofurkey veggie keilbasa with grilled onions and cheese.  Squirted on some mustard after snapping this photo.

A little too much bun, but it was nicely toasted and good bread. The dog was flavorful and even the small amount of melted cheese blended nicely.  (How strange to have melted cheese as mere condiment.) Om nom nom!

Cheezy Strategy

Monday, May 19th, 2008

A friend works as an Interactive Strategist and just started at a new agency. She’s their first full-time hire in analytics and strategy, so she has a lot of catching up to do.

Today we caught up over lunch at Hotel Utah on 4th and Bryant, close to both our offices.

Much of her focus will be on clients Electronic Arts and Boost Mobile. Her agency has an established Account Planning function, so the qualitative work is already there. They’re transitioning the quantitative in-house over time while bolstering it.  Developing the insight sounds really interesting to me, but I wonder if it would be interesting doing the research.

Anyway, about the cheese…. (more…)

Jay’s post-Bay to Breakers

Then went to Dolores Park to enjoy what was left of the sunshine as we transitioned from a few days of 90+ degree weather to typical San Francisco summer (windy, foggy, cold).

By mid-afternoon I was quite hungry and a friend called. She’d been watching the race, then started walking with it, ending up most of the way to the ocean. She was taking a bus back to her car and wanted to know if I’d like to get together for a late lunch.  A few calls and text messages later, we met at Jay’s Cheesesteaks on Divisidaro.

I should have realized it’d be a crazy day there… (more…)

Mother’s Day Melted Cheese Madness: Buttery Nachos and Amusement Park Pizza

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Jovino and Timmii had the bright idea that there would be fewer people at Great America on Mother’s Day.

Less time wading through humanity and more time for bumper cars and roller coasters.

That was an easy sell, so I joined a dozen or so of their friends yesterday.

Good strategy. We could go on a roller coaster twice by getting on the back. Fun was had.

Melted cheese was also had. (more…)
